Perched at an elevation of 8,000 ft. in Parsari, with undisturbed views of the snow-clad Nanda Devi mountains, Faraway Cottages offers a chance to observe the sweetness of slow-paced rural life and reconnect with the world!

With its elegantly rustic rooms adorned with fresh flowers picked from our garden, and the aroma of masala chai simmering on the stove and delicacies baked using local produce, a sumptuous feeling of home pervades our premises.

We have a total of 6 cottages, each carefully designed to offer comfort, privacy and splendid views to our guests. All our cottages are equipped with spacious bathrooms, private frescoes and elegant custom furniture, and fitted with ceiling-high windows which offer spectacular views of the majestic Himalayas and surrounding countryside.

Moving Towards Sustainability

At Faraway Cottages, we are trying, in our own small way, to make better choices and minimize the impact of our operations on the environment. Some steps we have taken:

• In our constant endeavour to preserve our pristine Himalayas, we have tried to minimise the use of one-time use plastic. As such we provide filtered Himalayan spring water in sterilised reusable glass bottles to our guests.
• Our bathrooms are equipped with earth friendly, organic products supplied in reusable pump bottles to avoid plastic consumption.
• We use 100% compostable, organic bamboo toilet rolls and napkins in all the bathrooms.
• Items like toothbrushes, hair dryers, shower cap, slippers etc. are all available on request rather than in the rooms, to reduce unnecessary wastage.
• To ensure a comfortable stay for our guests, we have installed an energy efficient central water heater system enabling 24 hours hot water supply in the bathrooms.
• Our grounds have been landscaped with minimal paving, which allows rain water to seep down and replenish groundwater.
• We encourage all our guests to explore regional cuisine abundant with lesser known but often healthier ingredients like millets and local vegetables which not only reduces our dependency on plastic packaged grocery items, but also promotes the humble yet nutritious Garhwali food.
• We have made a conscious effort to avoid plastic usage and work with locally & ethically sourced material during construction.
• Most of our installations, laundry, bedding and furniture is made by homegrown brands and suppliers.
